
Juan Pablo Egúsquiza is a sound and visual artist from Perú, based in Barcelona.
Active in the music scene, he is a double bassist and composer. His work orbits around free jazz, noise, experimental and improvised music.
He is constantly searching for new expressive possibilities and alternative techniques for playing the instrument and generating sounds.
As an interdisciplinary artist, he integrates sculpture, drawing, sound, and new technologies into his creative process. He works on sound sculpture assembling reused materials, led by his interest in construction and the concept of accumulation and waste, seeking new means of sound creation and investigating the relationship between people, objects and materials.
His work is characterized by a constant search for experiences that foster interaction between the viewer and his pieces, creating a space for play and improvisation.
In the past years, he has presented his work at exhibitions, concerts and festivals in Peru, Spain, Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, United States, France and Sweden.
