David Stackenäs was born in 1974 in Stockholm, Sweden. After finishing his studies at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm he has grown to become one of the mainstays of contemporary jazz and improvised and creative music in Sweden.
Stackenäs works in the field of contemporary jazz and free improvised music. Over the years he has developed a unique way of playing guitar – both prepared with different materials as well as conventional technique and a growing armada of pedals. With a wide range of sounds and techniques he creates music with great imagination and poetry. As a soloist he mainly focuses on acoustic guitars, using a lot of the organic sound-possibilities and timbres the instrument has to offer.
År 2024 släppte Eva och New York-pianisten Virg Dzurinko sitt andra duo-album: Hotel at the End of the World.
From her solo debut in 2007, Jennie Abrahamson has developed a sound that has evolved record by record; music with the ability to evoke clear images in warm colours, that mediates exact feelings; songs from different perspectives, that tie together personal experiences and unvarnished reflections with sharp observations of the surrounding world.
Kjell Nordeson, PhD, is a Swedish percussionist and educator currently living in San Francisco, California.
In 1986 Nordeson formed AALY Trio, together with fellow Swede Mats Gustafsson. AALY Trio became one of the leading groups in the Swedish experimental scene in the 90’s.
Nordeson has toured extensively in Europe, North America, North Africa and Japan with various groups; altogether over 1200 performances in around 30 different countries, and recorded over 50 CDs. He has performed with Peter Brötzmann, Barry Guy, Ken Vandermark, Sten Sandell, Joe Morris, William Parker, Paul Rutherford, Martin Küchen, Gerry Hemingway, Christer Bothén, Frank Gratkowski, Stefano Scodanibbio, Mark Dresser, and many others.
In 1994 he founded Co. Alba with choreographer Nathalie Ruiz. Co. Alba is a platform for Nordeson’s work as a composer. Ruiz and Nordeson have jointly produced numerous dance performances; their latest piece, a short film entitled Désiré, was commissioned by Swedish Television.
Nordeson has worked as musician and composer in numerous theatre performances at Sweden’s Dramaten (Royal Dramatic Theater), Riksteatern (National Theater), and Stockholm's Stadsteater (City Theater).
