Första akten för kvällen:
JORDAN SAND
Gustav Davidsson - Trombon
Johanna Ekholm - Kontrabas

Jordan Sand weaves voice into the organ-like resonances of bowed double bass. Folk string playing and tinges of Nordic jazz collide with extended techniques and the experimental, reckless spirit of the underground. At once raw and beautiful, gritty and delicate, her performances have been described as “impressive” (New York Times) and “Joni Mitchell meets Ligeti” (Omaha Under the Radar). Spanning off-kilter melodicism, polyphony, drone and noise, her writing and improvising often deal with a form of suspended consciousness, illumination or ego death, fusing wordless voice into the acoustic glow of her instrument.
Based in New York City for many years, Sand honed her chops as an instrumentalist, performer and session musician, working full time in the city’s chaotic web of music scenes. Performance credits include Carnegie Hall, Saturday Night Live, the Apollo Theater, and NPR’s Tiny Desk, and she’s toured extensively as a freelancer, with a range spanning folk, free jazz, classical, pop, new music, contemporary opera, and experimental formations of all shapes and sizes.
Since 2012, Sand has played solo at experimental and underground venues in Europe and North America, drawing from an evolving catalogue of her original music for voice and bass. On stage, Sand often populates the architecture of song with radical sound palettes: layers of string noise, crooked melodies, siren-like singing, and at times harrowing counterpoint between voice and the bowed textures of her instrument.
Since 2020, her work as a sound designer and composer has also come to the fore in collaborations with visual artists, filmmakers, researchers, and poets. Her music has been supported by the Norwegian Arts Council, the Harriet Hale Woolley Foundation, Trondheim Kommune, and Norsk Komponist Foreningen.
Originally from the U.S., Sand has lived in four countries, driven twice cross-continent in July, and plays on a Hungarian double bass of otherwise unknown origin. She holds a PhD from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and is currently based in Trondheim, Norway, planning a record release for autumn 2026.
Pelle was born 1991 in Uppsala. He is known for his work as a saxophonist, clarinetist, guitarist, and vocalist. A graduate of the Academy of Music and Drama at the University of Gothenburg, Westlin has been active in the Swedish jazz and experimental music scenes since the mid-2010s.
In addition to Trio Ramberget, Pelle leads the free jazz quartet Westlin Tontin, co-leads the big band Stockholm Improvisers Orchestra, and plays in several other constellations in jazz and improvisation. He also works with his solo project, where he sings and plays guitar, blending folk traditions with lo-fi sounds. Notably, in 2021, he released a series of albums featuring hymns and spiritual songs performed with vocals and his 130-year-old guitar, which he inherited from his great grandmother.
Pelle has played and collaborated with diverse musicians and artists such as Fredrik Ljungkvist, Jockum Nordström, Jocke Åhlund, Hannes, Waterbaby, Matti Bye, Klara Lewis, Magda Mayas, Sara Parkman, Roland Keijser, Lisa Ullén, Eva Lindal, Per-Åke Holmlander, Anna Högberg, to name a few.
Gustav is a musician and sound engineer/producer based in Ljungskile. Renowned for his work as a trombonist and pianist, his musical style seamlessly blends elements of jazz, neoclassical, ambient, and folk music, characterized by minimalistic compositions/improvisations.
In addition to his performance career, Gustav is the founder of Studio Glasfågeln, a recording studio located in Lilla Edet, Sweden. Primarily focusing on acoustic music genres such as jazz, neoclassical, and folk. It is also here that most of Trio Rambergets recordings are made.
Johanna was born in 1993 in Gothenburg. Since the mid-2010s, she has been an active contributor to Sweden’s experimental and improvisational music scenes.
Johanna has participated in various collaborative projects and performances, often exploring the intersections of jazz, ambient, and improvisational music. Her contributions as a bassist are characterized by a deep sensitivity to texture and space.
Beyond her work with Trio Ramberget, Ekholm is a founding member of the band Dog Park and has played in bands such as Fartyg 6 and Olimpias Orkan, and with artists such as Malin Wättring, Kristina Issa and more.
